 Only brand of shoes I wear Jun 05, 2010
Birkenstock shoes are the absolute best I have ever worn. I have had issues with my feet for years and more recently my knees. These shoes hold my feet with perfect balance and brace, no pinching, no ankles turning and they look wonderful, too. The soles DO NOT wear out. I have had some Birkenstocks for years and the soles do not wear out on sides or other spots as have any other brand of shoes I have owned such as Easy Spirit, Clarks, Naturalizer, Life Stride, just to name a few.

 Careful - these are NOT "original leather" May 21, 2010
I am certain that for folks who have not previously worn Birkenstock shoes, these sandals rate 5 stars. However, it bears pointing out that the reason for the low price (relative to most Birkies which are well over $100/pair) is not some super deal that Birkenstock or Amazon.com is offering. These shoes are NOT the "original leather" shoes as described in Amazon.com's product details. These are Birko-flor - still a Birkenstock product, but of lower price and quality. And, ooooh do they stink! The birko-flor material does not behave as leather does, so retains sweat and bacteria smells. Also does not hold up as well as leather, and can not be repaired, if needed. I may try to have my local Birkenstock shoe repair person see if she can replace the entire birko-flor upper with leather. In the future I will not make the mistake of purchasing birko-flor Birkenstocks.

This durable, attractive sandal not only molds itself to the wearer's individual foot, it provides incredible comfort and support.
The wide straps do not bind and the shoe is quite easy to slip on and off. This is a shoe that will work for just about everyone.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas, and they were the wrong size, so I returned them to the company, and they sent me the correct size within a week. Hassle free.

I bought the exact same sandals 20 years ago and they finally fell offmy feet. The new ones are exactly the same so I should be good for a very long time. Great fit, not too hot, easy on and off.
