 Dr Martens 1460 Black/Silver boot Nov 08, 2009
This was not at all what I expected. They went right back in the box and returned the same day. The size runs a little large, but besides this, I was thinking I was getting the Dr Martens of the past. The soul was made of the see thru product, and the boot cut into my foot where the seams were. I guess the saying that they just don't make them like they use to is evident in these boots.

It's really hard to not say that I love, love, love these shoes. They are very comfortable, sooo cute and the color is just adorable. However, within a week of wearing them, the patent started to peel off the top of one of the boots on the side. It happened in two places. I contacted Amazon and unfortunately they were out of stock from the merchant. Therefore, I was only able to send them back for a return. When I contacted the company themselves, they told me I had to deal with Amazon. They would not help me. I am sorry they won't stand by their product. I have seen Dr. Martens for years and you would think they would want to keep their customers happy. I don't think this is a common occurance, but I don't think I want to chance it again. There are plenty of other cute boots out there.

I bought these boots for work but assumed I would need to insert an arch support/cushioned insole before wearing them on the job (standing on concrete) all day...Wrong! I also guessed that I would need to wear them several times for short periods to "break them in" before heading off to work in them...Also wrong! I was instantly impressed (straight out of the box) with their workmanship/quality. The welted seams, sole and finish all exceeded my expectations...But once I slipped them on my feet, I never wanted to take them off! They did not require breaking in. They did not require an insert for all-day comfort.
Service was quick, price was unbeatable.
One thing to note in regards to fit/conversion: I normally wear a US ladies 8 1/2-9. I normally buy a Men's size 6 in Converse (as they run large) or 6 1/2 in other brands; however, I purchased a 7 in these as suggested by Dr Martens size chart. My toes are quite rounded instead of slanted as my 2nd & 3rd toes are longer than my big toe, and the toe on these boots is also rounded which would allow for a smaller size to accomodate my foot shape. Although a half size smaller would have been ideal, the slight difference has not made them unwearable or awkward.
