 Shoe is very squeaky Mar 20, 2010
I would not recommend this shoe. After about 1 hour of wearing, the right shoe develops a squeak that is very annoying.

These shoes are awesome! They are a little heavy, but it's no big deal. I do a lot of walking and during the winter months when I have to walk up and down the slippery wet stone staircases, the treads on the bottoms of these shoes are a blessing. Plus, the shoes are WATERPROOF!!! On days when there is deep snow, I don't wear them; after all, they are low-tops. But if there's just a coating of snow or slush, or if it is raining, these are the shoes I wear. I hope Timberland NEVER STOPS MAKING THEM OR SCREWS WITH THE DESIGN. I had to change out the factory insole and put in something different (thinner) so I could put my orthotics inside of the shoes, but that was not a problem at all. Note: these shoes DO NOT have the funky trench in the bottom of the sole like the Timberland Torrence does; it's just a regular flat sole. Incidentally, I gave a pair of these shoes to my brother-in-law who has ankle problems and completely destroys shoes. Everything is going well so far. That says quite a bit for the durability of these shoes. Long live the Timberland Montgomery Bay!!! I will MOST DEFINITELY buy these again . . . and again, and again until they stop making them.

My husband has to buy a new pair of these about every 18 months. The bottom of the shoes wears thin too quickly. Then, they fill up with rocks and other ground debris. For the price, these should last at least four or five years. We're looking for another brand next time.

It arrived today. Has a very confortable feeling for the foot,but a little bit heavy for walking long distances.
Very strong construction, it protects very well from cold and humidity.

Brown and just purchased a black pair Nov 23, 2008
I have owned a pair of these in brown for 2 years and they are fantastic for daily use at the office. Dressy enough to be called a dress shoe, but comfortable enough to be considered casual. I just purchase a pair in black and they are just as great. I don't think these will ever wear out because they are built so well.
